In the four game levels each with its set of chapters (36 in total), I had to collect all of the scattered nuts (yes, I know, it's really funny how the nut-crazy squirrel always misplaces his nut). I was Scrat and that's all that mattered. Within minutes of firing up the game, I was completely caught up in the storyline, stunned by the graphics and everything else around me kind of faded away. The game doesn't mirror the movie and that worked towards its benefit.
I'm glad it's definitely not the case with Ice Age. Usually, you think of games that are tied to movie releases as unpolished, uncreative and rough ad pitches only meant to promote the movie itself. Be careful where you land though, because if you hit an ice block it'll soon throw you off your stride. Collecting dinosaur eggs or acorns will build up your points score and make you go faster. All the controls in Scrat's Skate Park are done by rocking or tipping the iPhone up-and-down and side-to-side.
